| The region stands in more than one third of the province of Guadalajara, in the center
and the South West. Plains located at about 1,000 meters of altitude coexist with hills and
mountains, steep hillsides and leafy fluvial valleys. This diversity makes the geographic
personality of the region, the most characteristic and without any doubt, the most famous
region of the province thanks to the book “Viaje a la Alcarria” by Camilo José Cela, Litterature
Nobel Price.
